For holding our leader(s) accountable in the absence of news media that serve the public interest.
For facing up to the inevitable ridicule, childishness, and pure hatred that have captured the discourse of "conservatives," and giving them a chance to reveal themselves to the world as the sad and sadistic humanoids that they are.
For expressing the truth that working for peace is harder and more dangerous work than resorting to war.
For reminding those who voted for George W. Bush that they do not know what is best for the citizens of the U.S. and citizens of the world.
For proving that one person can make a difference and that every person must try.

"I like to believe that people in the long run are going to do more to promote peace than our governments. Indeed, I think that people want peace so much that one of these days governments had better get out of their way and let them have it."--DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER, 1959

Dear Benny,

Thank you for your take on this situation. I heard about the guy down the road who said it was Texas, so it was OK to shoot his shotgun as long as the mother of a dead son was around. The solder, who history will prove, has in fact, died in vain.

There are and will be many parents who are and will be suffering from denial as to whether their child died in vain or a "HERO PROTECTING THE USA", "GOD BLESS THE USA" syndrome. "Oh! He was a good boy. He loved the United States. And he was doing what he thought was the best for our GOD BLESSED AMERICA". Crap.

But he was nothing more than a pawn in the never ending ego trip of power hungry arogant world leaders. Arogant, rich, spoiled, power hungry, uncompromising bullies that have no true interest in world peace. They only crave absolute control over any and all governments wherever they may be. This is why so many people hate us.

And this morning I heard one of Bush's fellow Texans mowed down the crosses near the protest site. Dah!

God Bless Cindy Sheehan and God Bless the World.
